These Foods May Help Prevent Memory Loss

One in nine Americans over 45 years old have reported experiencing “cognitive decline,” such as memory loss or confusion. Memory loss is an inevitable part of getting older, but is there a way to slow it down? One study suggests that eating certain foods could help prevent memory loss.

Harvard University conducted a 20-year study that produced promising results for preventing cognitive decline. The study followed nearly 28,000 male health professionals with an average starting age of 51 years old. Participants were required to take subjective thinking and memory skill tests to test the results.

They found that three specific foods that helped prevent memory loss in men: orange juice, leafy greens, and berries. They also concluded that orange and red vegetables were helpful to prevent memory loss. Those who drank orange juice daily were “47% less likely to develop poor thinking skills than the men who drank less than one serving per month.”
