Plastic Surgery Is A No-Go For These Celebrities

For many celebrities, finding the Fountain of Youth under a plastic surgeon's knife is their go-to strategy to stay young and relevant in the industry. But not all stars agree that messing with natural looks is the right way to go about aging.

For Meryl Streep, it's all about embracing aging and change, while Pink enjoys the fact that her kids have her nose and the lines around her mouth are from years of laughter. They're not the only Hollywood A-listers, though. Keep clicking and see who else has said no to a surgical Fountain of Youth.

For Pretty Woman actress Julia Roberts, cosmetic surgery takes away facial expression, something she very much wants to have later in life. The actress wants her face to tell a story and not one that says she goes to a plastic surgeon for some tune-ups every so once in a while.

Robert's told Elle, "I want my kids to know when I'm [mad], when I'm happy, and when I'm confounded. Your face tells a story ... and it shouldn't be a story about your drive to the doctor's office. By Hollywood standards, I guess I've already taken a big risk in not having had a facelift."

For an Academy Award-winning actress, staying young and on top of their game would most likely be the most important thing, right? Wrong! For Meryl Streep, embracing old age is way more preferable than staying young with the help of plastic surgery.

During an interview with Good Housekeeping, the actress explained her stance on plastic surgery, saying, "When I see it in people I meet, it's like an interruption in communication with them...I just don't get it. You have to embrace getting older. Life is precious, and when you've lost a lot of people, you realize each day is a gift."

As it turns out, the actress actually has a very solid stance on surgery -- she thinks it's unnatural. During an interview with Hello Magazine, Thompson got very candid on her stance.

She said, "It's mad. It's not a normal thing to do, and the culture that we've created that says it's normal is not normal. It's chronically unhealthy, and there's this very serious side to all of that because we're going to end up with this sort of 'super-culture'..."

Hayek told InStyle about her stance on surgeries, stating, "No surgical tweaks. No Botox either. I think it is terrible, these girls in their late 20s injecting their faces and lips. One told me, 'If I kill my muscles now, I'll never get wrinkles.' Can you imagine?"

The pop singer likes how she "has her kids' nose" and that the lines on her face are from years of laughter. And while those are both great reasons not to go under the knife, Pink's main reason is facial movement.

On her Twitter, Pink wrote, "Continued note to self: Every once in a while you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn't move. I cannot get behind it. I just can’t."
